John Eaton Sewer
Atmos was instrumental in assisting the DC Department of General Services with a critical cleanup operation following a sewer backup at Eaton Elementary School. The affected areas encompassed classroom floors, adjoining hallways, and two common spaces. Our team executed a comprehensive approach, including bulk extraction, disposal of contaminated materials, and two thorough rounds of floor disinfection. Vertical surfaces that came into contact with the floor were also meticulously disinfected. To further ensure safety, we deployed an anti-microbial fogger for an added layer of protection.
Upon completion of the cleanup, a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) conducted a rigorous occupancy clearance investigation. This encompassed an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessment, detailed visual inspections, and sewage gas monitoring for substances such as hydrogen sulfide. Our commitment to thoroughness and safety is at the core of everything we do, ensuring that the environment is not only clean but also safe for everyone involved.
